Facing frenetic rhythm of life in the urban environment, the stress generated and the desire that everything goes faster and easier, a large majority wants to step back, do an introspection and requestionne their well-being. Green issues seems to be an answer for a healthier life, where we listen our body and take into account what surrounds us.
It is by becoming aware of what we eat, influences our life expectancy, we want to eat differently. Thus it developed different “currents” healthy, vegan, locavore, where we choose healthy food, seasonal and coming mostly from local producers, to preserve its health and do good to the local economy. Eating healthy has become a new habit, many restaurants offer food based on fresh produce and cooked homemade. The fridges are filled with products from the market and Bio has become the star of the supermarket. Some even pick and others create small vegetable gardens on their balconies.
Architects are rethinking the habitat to bring in as much light as possible and vegetation plays a major role. The new generations create green spaces in their interior like little havens of peace. The archetype of bio-climatic home is spreading more and more, using the resources of its environment to reduce its energy consumption.
An alternative to fast fashion offers a fashion more respectful of the man and the environment in its production process. Many ready-to-wear brands flourish, advocating a social and environmental ethic. Ecological, biological, less polluting and less water consuming textiles have emerged. We prefer natural materials such as linen, cotton, hemp, algae. To avoid waste and pollution, the research has developed innovative or recycled fabrics based on cotton wool, leather and plastics from ocean waste or daily life.
Cosmetics become eco-friendly, made from natural ingredients: plant-based active ingredients grown organically, without the use of fertilizers or pesticides, and not carrying out tests on animals. The packaging is thought recyclable or reusable.
And the design favors mineral and vegetable materials such as terracotta, ceramics, wood or straw, updating handcraft.
A time when well-being remains focus attentions, where values try to become more respectful and where we want to appreciate the simple things offered by Nature.
