Post Brexit, British fashion week offers a less experimental, more endowed season, moving away from this season of bright colors to go on darker and denser palettes. Not losing its superb, it offers an unusual fashion still as whimsical, but drawing on a more refined baroque.
THINK BIG !
Extravagance and zany are always synonymous with Great Britain, this season again, the English designers are having fun and pushing the limits of the shape, inflating the volumes, lengthening the lengths and giving amplitude to each look. Prestance and immensity are therefore renewed, mainly through dresses and skirts, ballooned or inspired by the Second Empire.
THE SHINY EFFECTS
Shiny, glittering or lacquered effects are the best! Whether sequins, pearls, lamés, or lurex knitt, the looks are sparkling, not in a shiny way, but we like this new way of treating the exceptional: more modest, in a shadow way.
THE HIGH-NECK DRESS
The it-product of this season is undeniably the long maxi dress with high collar, or turtleneck. Whether in mesh or canvas, it becomes an essential of the wardrobe. Easy and cocooning, its accessories allow you to play on all styles, from the most loungewear, through a city look, to the evening dress.
THE DARK SILVER
London would not be London without its incredibly show off side. This season, dark shades predominate, in the midst of which shine surprising silver tones pulling on carbon blacks. Therefore, we come out of bright whitened metallic to go towards a dark, mysterious silver with more depth.
THE EVOCATIVE GATHERS
The gathered is really borrowed from the sportswear wardrobe to flourish through very feminine PAP looks. Not really functional, it is rather used here to reveal part of the anatomy by gathered openings, to highlight the curves of the body by marrying each of the shapes, or to enhance and highlight a part of the garment, like the waist or nape for example. It is then, a symbol of sensuality, even sexyness depending on the brand.
