STRENGTH IN UNITY

In order to encourage the eco-committed youth that suffers from a lack of visibility, the Twitter account Solo But Not Alone, ran by three American teenagers, echoes isolated striks. Aware of the difficulty that loneliness represents, it tends to bring « solo climate strikers » under the limelights. That’s probably the best way to support and encourage new allies into joining the fight. These inspiring fifteen minutes of (green) fame have already gathered hundreds of followers around the globe.

TO THE MOON AND BACK

That’s one small step for man, but a giant leap for marketing. The space agency Virgin Galactic caught everyone’s attention by opening – for the second time – a platform dedicated to space tourism. With its first flights envisioned… this summer (!), Richard Branson’s agency intends to pull the rug under rival SpaceX’s feet which shouldn’t launch anything before 2023. Few minutes after the announcement on its Twitter account, enrollment lists were already filled with more 8 000 applications. With a first deposit around 1 000 dollars you must be determined to pay the price. Stellar !

Winnie the Poo dying from starvation, the Lion King as a hunting trophy or The Little Mermaid suffocating in the middle of drifting plastic bags. Far away from Walt Disney’s idealism, French Baptiste Drausin hijacks Disney’s biggest success regarding the current ecological context. Disturbing and disappointing at the same time, but not creepy, his drawings, cut to the chase by overthrowing ante-climate crisis childhood icons. That’s an effective way to make his way into people’s mind and reach the largest target people. It doesn’t take much to be happy… maybe save the planet ?

UNDER THE PAVEMENT, CCTV CAMERAS!

Real turning point in the underground Parisian life, the subway station is becoming the PRI (Parisian Region Institute)’s playground as well as its laboratory for artificial intelligence. Its goal ? To carry an experiment and test an algorithm’s ability to anticipate wrong behaviours such as invaders trespassing into tunnels or suspicious people standing still.
